How to register for COVID Vaccine for senior citizen across India?
The Union Health Ministry has stated that Senior citizens and those above 45 years of age with comorbidities now don’t have to register in advance for vaccinations against COVID-19. Beneficiaries can register themselves online and get vaccinated wherein they can walk into identified centres, get themselves registered and get vaccinated.

- Enter your mobile number, enter the received OTP
- Create your account
- Fill in your name, age, gender and upload an identity document
- If 45+, upload doctor’s certificate as comorbidity proof
- Choose the centre and date
- Only 4 appointments can be made via one mobile number
However, there are other options available for senior citizens who aren’t familiar with the technology.
The Aarogya Setu app will list government and private hospitals classified as COVID-19 vaccination centres with the date and time slots.
Documents to carry along
- Photo ID content comprising the individual’s photo and date of birth regardless of their mode of access: Aadhaar card, Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC)
- Certificate of co-morbidity for citizens aged between 45-59 years, signed by a registered medical practitioner,
- Employment certificate/ official identity card.
