Income Tax India updates its latest statistics regarding the higher number of Tax Returns within such a short period of time
According to reports available on the official Income Tax e-filling website, on July 30th for AY 2022-23, almost 26,82,031 Income Tax Returns were filed by the fillers within just 1600 hours today while approximately 3,97,792 Income Tax Returns were filed in the last 1 hour after the nationwide implementation of GST on all “Pre-packaged and Labelled” items. The Income Tax Department of India has updated the recent data on their Twitter account today July 30th. This is a big achievement by the Income Tax Department regarding the Tax returns they could achieve in the month of July after the implementation of GST.

The total number of income tax returns filed for AY 2022-23 is 4.52 crores on 29th July. The Tax Department has almost 2.61 crores of verified Income Tax Return files in its possession while almost 3.41 verified fillers were identified. So, by July 28, 2022, the total number of income tax returns filed was 4.09 crores among which almost 3.15 crores of returns were verified by fillers while the Tax Department possessed almost 2.41 crores of verified returns.
On July 27, a total number of tax returns filed war 3.73 crores among which almost 2.93 crores were verified by fillers while the Tax Department possessed approximately 2.18 crores of verified Income Tax Returns.
On July 26 for AY 2022-23, the total number of income tax returns was 3.4 crores of which almost 2.71 crores were tax returns verified by fillers and approximately 1.97 crores were under the possession of the Income Tax Department verified by ITRs.
