India is on track to hit historic high in exports, says Piyush Goyal
The Union Minister of Commerce and industry, Piyush Goyal has stated today that India is currently set on its way to hit a historic high in exports of products and services this year. He further assured that the economic loss the country faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be recovered and from the least seven years India has made constant tremendous growth in the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
The minister addressed that launch of the 40th International Trade Fair in the capital city of India, Delhi. In the event in the Pragati Maidan he was holding the portfolios for textiles, consumer affairs, food and public distribution and claimed that, “We’re back in business”. The annual event has started and will continue till November 27.
He said, “Collectively, we are on the track for a historical high on exports of goods and services in the current year.” He also added, “India has been witnessing constant growth for the last seven years on FDI”.
Goyal with the positive expections from comstructing Indian economy said, “Today’s launch of this trade fair reflects the five ‘sutras’ of India – economy, exports, infrastructure, demand, and diversity.”
Goyal also claimed that with the beginning of the 40th International Trade Fair, there will be the arrival of one of the finest and largest convention centres along with two exhibition halls at the Pragati Maidan in India. “Make in India, make for the world’ isn’t just a slogan,” he said, then added, “It implies assurance, thoughts, and trust in ourselves.”
Borge Brende, the President of World Economic Forum’s also stated about India’s immense efforts in the fight against coronavirus and the economic reforms taken by the country. He called India “fastest-growing among the large economies,” while speaking to Narendra Modi at an event. He also unveiled his expectations from India to have a “Two-digit growth” in the coming year.
