The medium-range surface-to-air missile (MRSAM) test firing off the coast of Balasore in Odisha was successful on Sunday, according to the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The Indian Army is in charge of the air defence system. According to DRDO officials, the missile scored a direct hit on the target at a great distance during the test, according to ANI.

The missile, which was tested around 10.30 a.m., intercepted and destroyed a high-speed aerial target at a long range.
“MRSAM-Army missile system flight tested at around 1030 hours from ITR Balasore, Odisha, intercepting a high-speed aerial target at long range. The missile destroyed the target in a direct hit” an official stated.
India successfully tested a new version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile off the coast of Odisha in Balasore last month. The missile was outfitted with cutting-edge technology that had been successfully tested.
“On January 20, a BrahMos supersonic cruise missile with increased indigenous content and improved performance was successfully test fired from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha.” Brahmos Aerospace carried out the launch in close collaboration with DRDO teams. “During this textbook flight, the missile followed the predicted trajectory and met all mission objectives,” the DRDO stated.
