Iran claims Ajit Doval promised a “lesson” for anyone who disobey the Prophet
Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the visiting Iranian Foreign Minister, expressed satisfaction with the Indian government’s efforts in dealing with those guilty for insults about Prophet Muhammed.
In his meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in the national capital on Wednesday, Abdollahian, who is on his first visit to India since taking office last year, brought up the topic of the contentious remarks made by two former BJP spokespersons.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abdollahian mentioned the problem with Doval and was satisfied with the reaction he received.
According to the report, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval underlined the Indian government’s and officials’ respect for the Prophet Muhammad, stressing that perpetrators will be dealt with in an exemplary manner by the government and related entities.
“Ajit Doval emphasized the Indian government’s and officials’ respect for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” the Iranian foreign ministry said, adding that “violators will be dealt with at the government and relevant body levels in such a way that others will learn a lesson.”
“Muslims are satisfied with Indian officials’ position in dealing with the perpetrators,” Amirabdollahian said, according to the release. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abdollahian mentioned the problem with Doval and was satisfied with the reaction he received.
Amirabdollahian praised the Indian people and government for their reverence for divine faiths, particularly the Prophet Muhammad, as well as religious tolerance, historical coexistence, and friendship among adherents of other religions. The Iranian foreign minister also emphasized the importance of paying close heed to Muslims’ religious sensitivities.
After her alleged incendiary remarks against minorities, which prompted severe reactions from Gulf countries, a Bharatiya Janata Party spokesman was suspended from the party’s primary membership on Sunday.
The visiting Iranian foreign minister, Amirabdollahian, acknowledged India in his meeting with NSA Doval in New Delhi on Wednesday. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Amirabdollahian and Jaishankar held two rounds of meetings during which they covered a wide range of subjects of mutual concern in the strategic, political, economic, and cultural sectors.
Amirabdollahian emphasized the fact that Iran’s and India’s economies complement each other, as well as the vast potential for expanding trade and commercial ties between the two countries.
Following that, the Iranian foreign minister emphasized the importance of developing a roadmap to promote complete and broad strategic ties between Tehran and New Delhi. The Iranian foreign minister informed External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on the present status of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, according to a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) readout (JCPOA).
The two ministers also discussed the Ukraine war and its consequences. Jaishankar and his Iranian counterpart reviewed the full range of bilateral relations, including political, cultural, and people-to-people ties, during delegation-level meetings.
Yesterday, the Iranian foreign minister paid a visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi stated that bilateral ties have benefited both countries and have helped to foster regional security and development.
