ISRO offers a 3-days free training regarding Bhuvan portal

ISRO offers a 3 days free webinar and training from July 12-14. In which, the Bhuvan team will provide detailed information about Bhuvan portal utilisation.

Bhuvan was initially developed in 2009 but in 2015, its beta version was released by ISRO -Indian Space Research Organization. It is an Indian portal which offers to explore a set of maps which is prepared by ISRO.

Moreover, Bhuvan portal is available in four languages which is Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu. Additionally, it provides virtual detailed images from Indian locations while comparing to other Virtual Globe software. Moreover, it does not provide any imagery of military related places because of the security purpose of the country.

However at present, Bhuvan Geo-portal has 177 cities High resolution dataset while the other part of the country is covered by 2.5m resolution imagery. Apart from ISRO, the National Remote Sensing Agency has played a vital role in the process of developing the Bhuvan portal.

Currently, ISRO is organising a free webinar for creating more awareness about Bhuvan. The team Bhuvan will explain about Bhuvan portals functions, utilities and let the users learn about the country’s development in technology.

Additionally, the webinar is specifically aimed for the students who belong to computer science, geo-information, civil engineering, remote sensing and other related fields. Also how to download the data, map services and many other things.
