SC approves NEET-PG Counselling for 2021-2022 based on prevailing EWS, OBC reservation

  • In the apex judiciary confirm the 27% OBC quota and 10% quota for the EWS category is apprehensive.
  • Supreme Court told the standards laid down in January 2019 will be obeyed.

The Supreme Court permitted NEET-PG Counselling for session 2021-2022 based on prevailing EWS/OBC reservation standards.

A court of magistrates DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna told that listed justifications for the recess order will fulfill and the counselling for the NEET-PG for the academic session 2021-22 will continue as per the standards already declared.

The judiciary told that existence of standards of Rs 8 lakh for judgment of EWS for fortune years will be accountable to ultimate adjudication of the assortment of requests and documented the petitions for ultimate hearing on March 5.

On Thursday, after administering a day-long hearing on pleas questioning the existence of EWS allowance in postgraduate medical entries and the Centre’s statement favouring the allowance, the judiciary told there is a circumstance, wherein nationwide attention, the counselling has to commence, which was also a crucial need of protesting resident medics.

Solicitor general Tushar Mehta, seeming for the Centre, said a court of magistrates DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna that the compliance that OBC reservation is unconstitutional is lawfully unsustainable.

Enormous uprisings by resident medics of government hospitals were glimpsed across various aspects of the nation in current days over the uncertainty in the counselling procedure.
