The Co-WIN app is not for public use; Government clarifies details
On Monday, the Union Health Ministry of India clarified a few details regarding the use of the Co-WIN app.
The Union Ministry clarified that the Co-WIN app is only for administrators and not for people who want to book an appointment. The Co-WIN app (Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network) launched by the government is a vaccination drive against the coronavirus. It essentially manages the inoculation of the public. The application will also help in identifying target groups, keeping a track of those to be administered the doses and preventing malpractices.
The ministry gave clarification amid reports of glitches by users attempting to register themselves onto the app.
Booking appointments are to be done through CoWin Portal and not on the app from the app.
