The DRDO counter-drone equipment placed close to the Red Fort area
The National Capital of Delhi has been placed on high alert due to worries about a potential terrorist attack around Independence Day. The Intelligence Bureau claims that the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) have been planning an attack for August 15 during the Independence Day celebrations (IB). It has asked that the Red Fort impose tight entry requirements.
The Red Fort’s location has been transformed into an impregnable fort. There is rigorous security from the ground up. Commandos and Delhi police officials will also keep an eye on the suspects while regularly scouring the city and even the Yamuna River.
In addition, the suspects’ whereabouts and any ominous phone calls would be monitored by the Delhi Police Special Cell. To provide security throughout the entire fort, about 10,000 police officers have been stationed there along with paramilitary personnel. According to the intelligence reports, details have been discovered on a number of terrorist suspects in the capital. Additionally, it has been revealed that some terrorist organizations may use drones to commit terrorist activities and try to sabotage peace and harmony in the nation’s capital. The Delhi Police Commissioner has already imposed an immediate ban on all flying objects, including drones, as a result of this.
Another effort spearheaded by DRDO is to make the Red Fort’s celestial security impenetrable. The organization has deployed two anti-drone radar systems, which are capable of detecting any flying object within a range of two to four kilometers.
This technology will also jam any drones in the air and shoot them to the ground if they enter a two-kilometer zone around the Red Fort.
