US hacked websites of India, Russia, China and Japan: reports Beijing
A Beijing based cybersecurity firm says that NSA hacks Indian, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese websites.
A Beijing based cybersecurity firm, Pangu Lab says that US hacked websites of India, Russia, China and Japan. Thus, the firm releases a technical report explaining how NSA uses a technology, ‘backdoors’ to access sensitive information from the websites of these countries.
Firstly, Chinese media is popularizing the report after facing charges from US for cyber hacking. Cyber attacks from China target US institutions for sensitive information. It has become a pricking issue between US and China bilateral relations. However, Indian institutions also hold that China does hack into their sensitive data from government departments and institutions.
What does the technical report comprise as US hacked websites of India and others as per Beijing?
As per Beijing, National Security Agency (NSA) is breaching into several websites from India, China, Russia and Japan with sensitive information. Mainly, NSA is employing ‘covert backdoors’ which technically allows to trespass authentication or encryption.
Further, the report consists of the names of the websites that US hacks. It includes, India’s one of the top most microbial research labs, IMTech which works under Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Indian Academy of Science (Bengaluru), and Websites in association with Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
How does Pangu Lab find the ‘covert backdoors’?
As per the Chinese firm, in 2013, CIA analyst Edward Snowden leaks files of NSA that were of great help. It is because these reveal the unique identifiers of the NSA. The firm finds a key which connects to a backdoor Bvp47. It is a tool for hacking used by The Equation Group which is in association with NSA. Moreover, it also leads to the discovery of various similar attacks with the unique identifiers consistent with NSA platform.
