Heavy rainfall has battered the city of Gujrat since Friday. The city has been reportedly submerged in water logging caused by 4 inches of rain in a span of only three hours. According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s alert, the city will receive heavy rains for at least six days.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has reported that some areas of the city received 9 inches of heavy rainfall. The amount of heavy rain caused water logging problems in several places. People are stuck in traffic jams which is visible in the video and yet Zomato delivery guys are seen on the streets completely soaked trying their best to reach customers.
Netizens have also protested against the food delivery company, Zomato for not allowing the delivery staff to take a day off or two in this heavy downpour.
Another Twitter handle named Tushar Patel who is a market enthusiast and entrepreneur said, “Appreciation for Zomato delivery boys (not for Zomato). Even in this heavy Ahmedabad rain I see them making deliveries. New rising affluent Lazy middle class..pls show some big heart and appreciation for these hungerfighters. Desperation & privilege is what unites new India.”
