Who is Nupur Sharma and Why is she removed from BJP?
Nupur Sharma is an Indian politician who has been in politics since her college days and currently, she’s been a part of leading party BJP.
She was selected as a president of the Delhi University Students Union when she was a student at University, on the ticket of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
Additionally, she has held numerous posts in BJP such as National Executive Committee of BJP’s youth wing, Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha, National Media Co-incharge of the BJYM.
Besides all these posts, she has been a BJP spokesperson and participated in various debates in the media while representing her party’s view.
In 2015, she showed up as a runner up in the elections against AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal and Congress Leader Kiran Walia.
Why is Nupur Sharma removed from BJP?
Sharma recently issued an agonistic statement on Prophet Mohammad that angered Muslim community.
There were violent protest against this statement in UP.
However in the statement issued by BJP, the party respects all religions and faiths.
That’s why the BJP party removed Nupur Sharma from their party.
