New app Beeper to allow iMessage to work on Android, Windows, and Linux.

Beeper is a freshly launched single chat app with over 15 networks such as iMessage, WhatsApp. Eric Migicovsky is the man responsible for the creation of this app; he is the CEO and founder of a former smartwatch manufacturer called Pebble.

Beeper’s website mentions that the project was initially known as NovaChat.

Beeper claims to works across macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android, offering a unified inbox, and the ability to search across messages from each of the 15 services.

More interestingly, it’s the support for Apple’s iMessage that’s grabbing people’s attention. Since iMessage is only officially available on Apple devices, which is the most common reason why users prefer not to switch to an android device.

According to Migicovsky, Beeper should allow iMessage to work on Android, Windows, and Linux, but admits that it’s terms and conditions in doing so.

FAQ’s on Beeper’s website gives clarity of exactly what these terms and conditions are. If an individual has an always-online Mac, then he/she can install the Beeper Mac app to act as a bridge, similar to the approach AirMessage uses. On the contrary, if an individual doesn’t own you don’t have access to a Mac, humorously yet in a serious tone, it’ll literally send each of its users a “Jailbroken iPhone with the Beeper app installed” acting as a bridge between the two sources.

Beeper’s monthly subscription is $10.
