OnePlus co-founder to announce launch of new startup Today
Carl Pei, OnePlus’ co-founder who called quits in October 2020 from the company later made an announcement in December about his plans to launch a new startup which is expected to deal with audio products.
Carl Pei will officially today unveil his new company, which has its headquarters in London, at 11 am UK time (4:30 pm IST)
He worked many years to expand the OnePlus brand. However, Pei’s new venture has already raised $7 million in seed investment from prominent investors like Tony Fadell who is the Principal at Future Shape and Inventor of the iPod, Casey Neistat a YouTuber, Kevin Lin the Co-founder of Twitch, Steve Huffman the CEO of Reddit, Liam Casey the Founder and CEO, PCH, Paddy Cosgrave the Founder of Web Summit and Josh Buckley the CEO of Product Hunt.
Kunal Shah, the founder of CRED has also invested in Pei’s new venture; however, the amount sent is undisclosed. The company has officially backed Pei’s new London-based venture.
Nevertheless, there is not much information about the startup will but however revolves around audio accessories and possibilities of even launching a music streaming service under its name.
With his first company which he co-founded with Pete Lau; One Plus has been a huge success; This will be Pei’s second attempt at starting a company.
