After multiple resignations from his cabinet ministers, UK Prime Minister resigns

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared to resign from his Post, after receiving numerous resignations from the cabinet ministers.

Recently, approximately eight ministers have offered their resignation letters. Henceforth, the PM also declared to step down from his position on Thursday.

On July 24, 2019, Boris Johnson was elected as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He won the elections with the higher number of votes and took Queen Elizabeth II’s invitation at her prerogative for forming his new administration.

Although there is a fixed duration of 4years for one prime minister. However, Johnson has now resigned from his Post before his tenure ended.

Additionally, within two hours, eight ministers and two secretaries of state resigned from their post which left the PM powerless. Moreover, he was deserted by the newly appointed ministers who left no other chance than resignation for Boris Johnson.

Meanwhile, when he appointed new finance minister Nadhim Zahawi, within 48 hours, he forced PM Boris Johnson to resign.

‘This is not sustainable and it will only get worse: for you, for the Conservative Party and most importantly of all the country. You must do the right thing and go now,’ he tweeted

The BBC’s political editor Chris Mason says, ‘Boris Johnson will resign as Conservative Party leader today’.

Moreover, even the UK education minister Michelle Donelan had quit her post saying that, ‘Boris Johnson had put her in an impossible situation’.

‘I am deeply saddened that it has come to this, but as someone who values integrity above all else, I have no choice’, she issued a comment on her Twitter account.
