Biden to sign Inflation Reduction Act into law on Tuesday
President Joe Biden is set to sign the Inflation Reduction Act into law on Tuesday at the White House. With the midterm elections drawing close, the $750 billion health care, tax and climate bill’s conversion into law will mark a major victory for President Biden’s administration and the Democratic Party.
According to the White House, the ceremony on Tuesday at the State Dining Room will be one of the many events that will follow focused on the commence of the new law.
The White House also reported in their statement that the President would host a Cabinet meeting in the coming weeks, focused on implementing the Inflation Reduction Act. He will also travel across the country to highlight the help that the bill will offer the American people, added the House’s statement. It was also mentioned that on top of it, he would host an event to celebrate enactment of the bill at the White House on 6 September 2022.
Last week, the President signed a bill aimed at increasing benefits for veterans affected by toxic burn pits in Afghanistan and Iraq. The signing of the new bill will be the latest celebration of one of the major accomplishment for Biden this summer. In the last few months, Bidden has accomplished wins in several other fonts. This includes a bipartisan gun reform bill, ordering the successful mission to kill al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, sending billions in aid to Ukraine to help the nation defend itself against Russia’s invasion and helping Finland and Sweden begin the process of joining NATO.
