On July 25, Droupadi Murmu, who had just been sworn in, took office as president of India in the Rashtrapati Bhavan. She assumed her new role during a handover ceremony from departing President Ram Nath Kovind. President Murmu was sworn into office by Chief Justice of India NV Ramanna.
