Facebook Down Update: Donald Trump Jr. Has Something to say over this

Facebook has been down now for several hours making it difficult for users to access. However, a lot of cyber security experts have made a conclusion that it might be because of a hacking attempt.

Facebook may have turned off its server to protect user data and some have a different version to it. Yes, Donald Trump Jr. made a statement on Twitter about Facebook.

He said “Strange that hours after a whistleblower calls out Facebook saying they engaged in a “betrayal of democracy” that Facebook and other companies it owns are totally down.”

Facebook’s whistleblower Frances Haugen, a former product manager on Facebook’s civic misinformation team revealed on a platform. She exposed herself as the source of a treasure of leaked data, according to her website. She said on her own website that she “grew more disturbed by the company’s actions favoring its own profits over public safety – putting people’s lives in danger” throughout her tenure there. Frances took the brave step of blowing the whistle on Facebook as a last option and at significant personal risk.”

“I’ve seen a lot of social networks, and it was far worse at Facebook than anything I’d seen before,” Haugen told CBS’ “60 Minutes.”

In May, Haugen informed “60 Minutes” that she had abandoned Facebook.

On Sunday night, Jeff Horwitz, the Journal writer who published the series of pieces based on the hacked papers, revealed Haugen’s name on Twitter, exposing her as the story’s primary source.

The records, which were originally published by the Journal, indicated, among other things, that Facebook officials were aware of the detrimental effects of its platforms on certain teenage users. According to one internal document seen by the Journal, 6 percent of American users who expressed suicidal thoughts attributed the impulse to harm themselves to Instagram.
