Kamala Harris criticized Supreme Court Order on abortion rights
Kamala Harris took to Twitter to express her discomfort over a recent ruling by the Supreme Court over abortion rights.
She made a statement “The Supreme Court took away a constitutional right that has been recognized for half a century from the women of America. Our daughter will not have the same right to make decisions about her own body as my mother-in-law.”

Roe v. Wade, the historic case that established the constitutional right to an abortion, was overruled by the Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision.
Since 1973, Roe has allowed for abortions to be performed during the first two trimesters of pregnancy in the US.
As a result of the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Mississippi case known as Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, about half of the states are anticipated to abolish or severely restrict abortion.
The majority judgement was written by Justice Samuel Alito, who was joined by four other conservatives. The three liberal justices disagreed with the outcome. Despite not supporting completely overturning Roe, Chief Justice John Roberts voted with the majority to uphold the Mississippi abortion restrictions.
