Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, wishes Queen Elizabeth a happy Jubilee

As Britain celebrates her Platinum Jubilee, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un delivered a telegram of congratulations to Queen Elizabeth, according to the isolated state’s foreign ministry.

In a telegram dated June 2, Kim added, “I express my greetings to you and your people on the occasion of your country’s National Day, the official birthday of Your Majesty.”

In the year 2000, the United Kingdom and North Korea established diplomatic ties.

North Korea is one of the few countries that the queen has never visited during her long reign as head of state of 14 other countries, including Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. She did, however, travel to South Korea on a state visit.
