Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and RCP Singh resigns as Union Ministers
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was the head of the minority affairs ministry, whereas RCP Singh was in charge of the steel ministry in Modi’s 2.0 Cabinet.
Indian Union Ministers, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and Ramchandra Prasad Singh on Wednesday resigned from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Cabinet.
Naqvi and Singh’s Rajya Sabha tenure will be ending on Thursday.
Naqvi was the head of the minority affairs ministry, whereas Singh was in charge of the steel ministry in Modi’s 2.0 Cabinet.
PM Modi appreciated both the ex-union ministers for their contribution to the country’s development.
Modi’s praise was seen as an indication that it was the last Cabinet meeting of the ministers.
Soon after the meeting, Naqvi met BJP national president JP Nadda at the BJP headquarters.
“BJP may name Naqvi as its vice-presidential candidate for the elections in August or nominate him for the post of governor/lieutenant governor of some state or Union Territory,” a source as per TOI.
