No Military action against Truckers – Justin Trudeau
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Thursday that the Canadian government has no plans to bring in troops to deal with a trucker protest over a vaccine mandate that has halted traffic in central Ottawa.
Since last Friday, more than 200 trucks and other vehicles have been blocking downtown roads in the nation’s capital in an unprecedented demonstration by Canadian standards.
The city’s police chief, who has been chastised for his officers’ lack of response, acknowledged on Wednesday that using the military was an option.
“Before sending the military in situations involving Canadians, one must be extremely cautious,” Trudeau added.
“This isn’t anything we’re currently considering. It is not possible to send in the army “He told reporters about it.
Some activists want the COVID-19 vaccine regulations for cross-border truckers repealed, while others want Trudeau to resign.
