The following is everything you need to know about the Equality Statue:
- The statue is fashioned of ‘panchaloha,’ a five-metal alloy consisting of gold, silver, copper, brass, and zinc.
- It is one of the world’s tallest metallic statues in a sitting position.
- It is affixed to a 54-foot-high base structure known as ‘Bhadra Vedi.’
- A Vedic digital library and research centre, ancient Indian manuscripts, a theatre, and an educational gallery featuring many of SriRamanujacharya’s works are all housed on the statue’s floors.
- It is surrounded by replicas of 108 ancient sites from all across the country, including Tirumala, Srirangam, Kanchi, Ahobilam, Badrinath, Muktinath, Ayodhya, Brindavan, and Kumbhakonam.
- Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami of Sri Ramanujacharya Ashram came up with the idea.
- In addition, a Ramanujacharya temple with a 120 kg gold deity would be placed for daily devotion on the premises, encompassing an area of around 300,000 square feet.
- The inauguration of the Statue of Equality is part of Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Samaroham, Sri Ramanujacharya’s ongoing 1,000th birth anniversary festivities.
- Sri Ramanujacharya dedicated his life to the upliftment of people, believing that all individuals are equal regardless of nationality, gender, colour, caste, or creed.
