“Value the worth of Indian Constitution in building Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat”, Prime Minister Modi addressed the nation
26th November 1949 was the day when the respected great Constitution of India was formally adopted. Since 2015, the day is celebrated as the Constitution Day. So, today President Ram Nath Govind is leading the ceremony of Preamble reading in the Central hall of the Parliament and the Prime Minister will address the gathering.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the citizens of country in the morning with his tweet featuring a part of Ambedkar’s speech in the Constituent Assembly.
Meanwhile, in the ceremony PM Modi began the speech saying, “Constitution Day is the day to salute this House, where many of India’s leaders brainstormed to give us the Constitution of India. We also pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and all those who fought during India’s independence struggle.”
On the ‘Samvidhan Divas’, Modi said that the Indian Constitution of not just collection of a large number of articles but instead it is the ‘great tradition of millennia’. He also pointed to the fact that the Constitution has bound the diverse country over the years.
Prime Minister Modi also paid his tribute to the Father of the Indian Constitution by saying, “We must value the worth of Indian Constitution in building ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ & the immense contribution of Dr BR Ambedkar has made in directing Indian policymakers towards unity & diversity.”
Modi also remembered the martyrs of the attacks on Mumbai on 26th November of 2008 and said, “Today on the anniversary of the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, I pay tribute to all brave soldiers of the country who sacrificed their lives while fighting the terrorists.”
Prime Minister also tried to aware the citizens with the importance of our Constitution and said that the Indian Constitution “empowers us towards growth & enriches us with its core values of integrity and justice.”
