She has a degree of Candidate in Historical Science, the Russian equivalent of a PhD. She has made many sarcastic comments on the world level in respect of the dangerous conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

She is the editor-in-chief of the Russian sates-controlled television news Russia Today and the state-owned international news agency Rossiya Segodnya. In 2022, Simonyan was sanctioned by the European Union for “action and policies which undermine the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
Maria Valeryevan Butina is a Russian politician, political activist and former entrepreneur who was convicted in 2018 of acting as an unregistered foreign agent of Russia within the United States. In July 2018, while residing in Washington D.C, Butina was arrested 2018, she was guilty as an agent of the Russian Federation “without prior notification to the Attorney General.” In December 2018, she pleaded guilty to felony charges of conspiracy to act as an unregistered foreign agent of the Russian state under 18U.S.C. In April 2019, a federal judge sentenced her to 18 months in prison. She served around 5 months at Tallahassee Federal Correctional Institution. In 2021, she was elected to the State Duma as a member of United Russia.
Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova is an engineer, a member of the Russian Sate Duma, and a former Soviet cosmonaut. She is known for being the first and youngest woman in space, having flown a solo mission on the Vostok 6 on 16 June 1963. She orbited the Earth 48 times, spent almost three days in space, and remains the only woman to have on a solo space mission. Tereshkova was a prominent member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, holding various political offices including being a member of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet from 1974 to 1989. She remained politically active following the collapse of the Soviet Union but twice list elections to the national State Duma in 1995 and 2003. Tereshkova was later elected in 2008 to her regional parliament, the Yaroslavl Oblast Duma. In 2011, she was elected to the national State Duma as a member of the United Russia party and re-elected in 2016.
