5th T20I called off due to rain, series tied
The India vs South Africa series has ended with a tie of 2 – 2, the final and fifth T20I was abandoned due to heavy showers in the city of Bengaluru. The rain began before the play was started and afterwards the match was reduced to 19 overs per side.
South Africa had won the toss and had elected to bowl first and put Indian batters on the crease, India managed to get 28/2 in 3.3 overs just before the match was called off due to rain. The series has ended in a draw and both the captains hold the trophy together.
India’s comeback was a gamechanger and it also boosted them in the shorter format. The Men in Blue will be heading to Ireland now for two T20Is before their tour of England. Players like Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar have impressed in the series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was also adjudged the Man of the Series.
The squad for the Ireland series has been announced and Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya will be leading the side.
