Aditi fells short at Arkansas Championship
India’s Aditi Ashok has produced an improved card of four-under 67 in the second round at Walmart NW Arkansas Championship but still couldn’t make the cut.
The 24-year-old from Bengaluru was off to a great start firing four birdies in a span of five holes between the 11th and 15th holes after kicking off from the tenth.
She also had two more birdies and two bogeys on the remaining 12 holes but combined with her 2-over 73 on the first day, it brought her to 2-under for 36 holes and it was still two shorts of the cut line. That ended the week early for Aditi once again.
Aditi finished at 2-over and in a low-scoring opening round, she found herself way down in T-124 and will struggle to make the cut.
Meanwhile, Yuka Saso, who had an amazing season, returned with a bogey-free, 7-under performance in the opening round. There were six players in shared lead.
Apart from Saso, the co-leaders were Megan Khang and Ryann O’Toole, Koreans Sei Young Kim and Jeongeun Lee and Lauren Coughlin, who ended her day making eagle on the last.
