Allrounder India VS New Zealand Two-test series: Washington Sundar will still be missed
The off-spinner allrounder Washington Sundar is likely to not be a part of Team India squad for the upcoming Test Series of two matches against New Zealand which will be organized in the home country but he will be part of Test specialistd at the MCA BKC facility.
Before the test series in England in july, the left-handed batsman sustained a finger injury during a practice match which made him miss a lot of series of Indian Team like the Tests in England, the T20 World Cup and now even the home series against the Black Caps.
The spinner was part of some practice matches recently and he also took some throwdowns on Monday but didn’t bat or bowl.
The international cricketer can be greatly valuable for the test series as he is a canny white-ball bowler. He has proved himself by scoring about 265 runs in four tests in just 66.25 overs which also included three fifty scores and also took six wickets in 49.83 overs.
According to a source, “The selectors are hoping that he’d be fit for the first Test in South Africa, which kicks off on December 17 in Johannesburg. He’s a crucial cog in the wheel, especially as he bats so well and adds strength to the lower order. The team missed him badly in the T20 World Cup.”
The player will be replaced by right handed batsman Jayant Yadav in the upcoming series who is making a comeback after five years. The allrounder has not played for a long time but is expected to prove himself by his game.
