Asia Cup 2022; India’s squad announced
The Asia Cup 2022 will be kicking off from 27th August in the UAE. With this the BCCI has announced the 15 member squad to participate in the tournament.
However, some changes are in the squad; KL Rahul makes a return after his surgery and Covid-19 treatment, Virat Kohli back in action after month long break, Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi set to participate in their first big tournament.
Moreover, Mohammed Shami and Ishan Kishan are not included in the squad, the reason is yet to be unknown.
But, the main question of concern is Jasprit Bumrah being ruled out due to back injury, the ace pacer will not be part of the troop and his absence will definitely raise some eyebrows.
Now, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan or Arshdeep Singh will leading the bowling attack.
However, before the start of Asia Cup, India will be facing Zimbabwe in a three match ODI series at Harare, opening batsmen Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the side.
Everyone, will be having their eyes on Virat Kohli, who needs to have a fabulous run in the tournament, also his performance in the Asia Cup will determine his future stay in the team and also his spot for the T20 World Cup later this year.
Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar are named as standby players.
