The unoccupied Strawweight Muay Thai World Title was on the line in the co-main event, and Smilla Sundell became the youngest ONE World Champion. Smilla Sundell won a unanimous decision against Jackie Buntan in a close fight. On the one hand, the Californian’s dream of becoming ONE World Champion was put on hold. Sundell, on the other hand, was responsible for making history.
“The Storm” built a name for herself in the provincial Muay Thai scene, and she came into the battle with a 32-5-1 record. The boxer is one of the most inexperienced on the ONE Championship roster.
Buntan used her footwork in the first round, while Sundell applied pressure. The 24-year-old, on the other hand, was able to defeat the Swede. Buntan countered the lengthier fighter with her excellent movements. Buntan appeared to have the upper hand in a close round.

Both combatants put pressure on each other at the beginning of the championship round. Sundell’s strike, on the other hand, appears to have had a greater impact on Buntan. Buntan’s eye also appears to be the source of her visual problems. The 17-year-old dominated the first round and maybe up 3-1 going into the final round.
The teenage boxer turned up the heat on the Californian warrior in the last round. Sundell’s production was the X factor in the bout, despite Buntan’s outstanding footwork. Furthermore, the 17-year-old appeared to have more pop in her blows. As a result, after a difficult first round, the youthful fighter dominated the battle. Chatri Sityodtong, the CEO and Chairman of ONE, also gave her a $50,000 performance incentive.
