Babar Azam overtakes Virat Kohli with most days as No. 1 T20I batter
Pakistan captain Babar Azam has overpassed Virat Kohli to become the longest T20I batter in the latest ICC rankings for Men’s international. He beat his Indian counterpart Virat Kohli who had been for a number 0f 1,013 days. However, due to less participation by the former Indian skipper and with inconsistent form in the game, Babar has surpassed the standings.
Babar Azam is now the the No. 1 batter in white ball cricket (ODIs and T20Is). Indian left hander Ishan Kishan has also dropped one place inside the Top 10 of ICC T20I and is currently on the seventh rankings.
The Lahore boy has been in terrific form and the former New Zealand player and now commentator Simon Doull is all praises for the Pakistani player, Doull said, “We are talking about big four, but Babar Azam is the big one” he said while doing analysis in the England and New Zealand Test series.
With the recently held India vs Ireland series, Irish player Harry Tector and Indian batter Deepak Hooda have moved to 66th and 104th positions respectively for their impressive form in the T20I series held in Ireland. The Men in Blue sealed the victory by 2 – 0.
