Babar’s tough 50 seals the series win for the home side

Pakistan captain Babar Azam continued his hot form by becoming the first men’s international cricketer to register nine consecutive fifty plus scores across all three formats. The knock of 77 runs in the 2nd ODI against the West Indies helped the ‘Shaheens’ seal the ODI series at Multan.

Pakistan beat the Windies by a mammoth 120 runs to take a 2 – 0 lead in the ODI series, the first ODI also witnessed a ton by the Pakistani captain, which helped the hosts chase down a total of 306.

Now this is the longest streak of fifty plus scores for any batter in men’s international cricket. Babar also had the chance of becoming the second player to score four centuries in a row after Kumar Sangakkara. However, the Windies bowlers got the better of him.
