Boria Majumdar behind bars in Wriddhiman Saha case

Journalist Boria Majumdar has been sentenced to an imprisonment period for two years. The ban was made by the Indian cricket board, BCCI by a three member committee.

“We will be informing all state units of the Indian cricket board to not allow him inside stadiums. He won’t be given media accredittation for home matches and we will also be writing to ICC to backlist him. Players will be asked not to engage with him,” a BCCI official told Indian Express.

The whole matter started way back in February, when Saha had tweeted some post on Twitter, he had also shared a screenshot of the messages, one of the messages had also said, “You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”

The matter was not taken on a pleasant note from the cricketing world, and Former India head coach Ravi Shastri also urged BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to look into the matter.

Majumdar has also accused the wicket – keeper batsmen of “doctoring” the screenshots of the WhatsApp messages he had put on his Twitter account, he later showed it to the committee as well.

Former India Opener, Virender Sehwag came in support of Saha by saying, “Extremely sad. Such sense of entitlement, neither is he respected nor a journalist, just chamchagiri. With you Wriddhi,” tweeted the ‘Multan Sultan’.
