Cheteshwar Pujara hits third double ton in county cricket

With his fine form in the county cricket, Pujara hasn’t disappointed his fans and well wishers. The batter has smashed his third double century on Wednesday. With Sussex going against Middlesex, Pujara made it to a double ton in 368 balls. His innings was flooded with 19 fours and 2 sixes.

The knock has made Pujara become the first Sussex player after 118 years to score 3 double hundreds in a single season of county cricket. His knock in the match is courtesy his good run in the rescheduled Test of India against England at Edgebaston, he made a half century in the second innings.

Moreover, Pujara was made interim captain of Sussex following Tom Haines injury. And now with holding a new position and filling inn Haines shoes, Pujara hit his fifth ton from seven county games.

Earlier in the month of May, the Indian mainstay slammed 170 against Middlesex which helped him get a callup to the Indian Test side after he was dropped from the home series against Sri Lanka.

Pujara achieved his double century in 498 minutes, he now holds the record of the highest score by an Indian against Middlesex.

Pujara’s magnificent form is a positive sign for the Indian team and will give a boost also to Pujara after he was going through a bit of rough patch in red ball cricket.
