Chris Morris is the most expensive buy in the IPL 2021 auctions-find out more

South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris became the most expensive buy in Indian Premier League history as he was sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 16.25 crore.

Christopher Henry Morris is a South African international cricketer who plays first-class and List A cricket for Titans.

Previously, Yuvraj Singh, the all-rounder who bats left-handed in the middle order and bowls slow left-arm orthodox, was the most expensive buy at Rs 16 crore. Morris has beaten his record as all teams bid frantically to acquire him.

Morris initially came in at a base price of Rs 75 lakh.

Morris, a right-arm fast bowler and a lower-order hitter has played 70 IPL games so far in the league and has scored 551 runs at 23.95 and a strike rate of 157.87. With the ball, Morris has 80 wickets to his credit at 23.98 and an economy rate of 7.81 runs per over.

Morris made his international debut against New Zealand and has since then featured in 23 T20Is and has 133 runs and 34 wickets to show.

Though Morris has not played international cricket since 2019, he could very well be one of Rajasthan Royals star bowlers and a partner to Jofra Archer.
