Cristiano Ronaldo not included in the 21 man squad

The Red Devils will be taking on Atletico Madrid in Oslo on Saturday, just before the Premier League, Man United will be facing two Spanish clubs. However, Veteran Cristiano Ronaldo will not feature for the team.

Portugal captain has been left out of the 21 man travelling troop after talks with manager Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo also was not part of the pre season tour’s of Thailand and Australia, the reason was family issues as cited by some reports. Although, he returned to Carrington earlier this week.

Moreover, CR7 had talks with the clubs management and hierarchy, which also included Sir Alex Ferguson, the star has undergone some fitness and medical tests to see what is his position right now. Ronaldo and boss Ten Hag also met for the first time in person.

The Portuguese was the clubs highest goalscorer in the previous season as he netted 24 goals in 38 games, he made a close sideline attention of United beating Wrexham 4-1 in behind closed doors friendly recently.

Ronaldo will not be travelling to Oslo for the game against Atletico, although, Old Trafford want to retain Ronaldo’s services for another season as per his contract, a transfer to a rival club has also been ruled out for the ex-Real Madrid player.
