Dhoni’s new job as Team India’s mentor will be restricted to the T20 World Cup.

Dhoni is the most successful white-ball skipper in history, having won all three ICC trophies – the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy. In 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021, he guided CSK to IPL triumph.

Before starting their campaign, India will play two warm-up matches.
On Monday, the Virat Kohli-led team will face England in their first warm-up match, followed by a practise match against Australia on Wednesday.

India will begin their championship campaign with a highly anticipated match against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai.
