Everton not happy with Gordan’s penalty
Everton’s Anthony Gordon who had created a buzz for his tackle on Liverpool defender Joel Matip was not given consideration from Everton’s point of view. The referee decided that a penalty was not required and game commenced immediately from that point. Everton have contacted the Professional Game Match Officials Board over concern of this matter.
Everton Manager and former Chelsea player Frank Lampard was also not happy with the decision and felt that it should have been a spot kick. Referee had thought that there is no evidence for a penalty and the replays were also conclusive.
“It is a penalty in the second half. I don’t think you get them here. I think if it is Mo Salah at the other end, you get a penalty. I have played in teams in the top half of the league, you get them”, said the former England player.
Everton are now just two points away from relegation, which is a wake up call for Frank Lampard’s lads. They next face Chelsea at Goodison park, Everton Football Club
