Extension till the 2028 season for Kyler Murray, Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to an extension of five years for their two time Pro Bowl quarterback Kyler Murray, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero have reported on Thursday.
With the deal on, Murray is set to become one of NFL’s highest paid players, and would keep him under contract until 2028. The Cardinals later officially announced the extension.
News has popped up after an offseason of drama with the 24 year old and his team as the sides attempted to come to an agreement that would keep Murray with the Arizona, it will be beneficial for the team in near future.
As far as the financial elements are concerned, they were not announced, but according to ESPN it contains $160 million guaranteed and an annual average of $46.1 million.
“I’m an Arizona Cardinal, I’ve done nothing but give my all to the Cardinals and will continue to do that. I’m not really too worried about my future as a Cardinal.
Murray has been scheduled to earn $5.3 million this season, and the Arizona Cardinals had already picked up his fifth year option in 2023 that would guarantee him a salary of $29,7 M.
