On his YouTube account, the 41-year-old stated that his body is in excruciating pain. The former Pakistan captain thanked his supporters for their support during his match against the Quetta Gladiators yesterday.
“I wanted to finish the PSL on a high note, but I’ve had a lower-back ailment for 15-16 years now, and the pain is extremely acute in my groyne, knee, and even the fingers of my foot,” Afridi remarked.
Afridi claimed that he will undergo rehabilitation for a few months before returning to the Kashmir Premier League (KPL).
“My health is everything, and I can’t take any more agony.”
Meanwhile, Afridi expressed gratitude to Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar and apologised for not continuing in the tournament.
“I will return to the field for my supporters, and please keep me in your prayers,” Afridi said.
It’s worth noting that Afridi took three wickets in three games for the Gladiators.
