Helen Housby, Jo Harten, and Natalie Haythornthwaite are back in action for England against Jamaica

Three members of England’s gold-medal-winning team at the 2018 Commonwealth Games have been recalled to the squad for the upcoming home series against Jamaica.

Helen Housby, Jo Harten, and Natalie Haythornthwaite are all included in head coach Jess Thirlby’s 16.

Stacey Francis-Bayman, a seasoned international, is also returning, according to the release.

England’s preparations for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham include the Vitality Roses Reunited series.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, several Australian players, including Housby, Harten, and Haythornthwaite, were unable to participate in the series victory in New Zealand in September.

Haythornthwaite will return to her first team, Manchester Thunder, in England for the 2022 season.

Jamaica ranked fourth in the world, will meet England, ranked third, on November 28 at London’s Copper Box Arena before concluding the series on December 4 and 5 at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena with two matches in two days.

The return of the big-name players, according to Thirlby, “strengthens an already excellent and well-established bunch.”

“There is a fantastic enthusiasm among everyone,” she continued, “which speaks to the environment and culture we believe represents this team and that we work hard to build every day.”

Geva Mentor and Chelsea Pitman, both veterans, are unable to participate due to personal obligations.
