The list includes top 10 glamorous female swimmers who have taken the world stage and have earned a name for themselves:

  • Stephanie Rice – Representing Australia, she is best known for winning three gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She is also been crowned as the Australian Swimmer of the Year with the Pacific Rim Swimmer of the year as well. She announced her retirement in 2014.

 

  • Zsuzsanna Jakabos – The Hungarian swimmer has competed in a total of seven events at the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics. Her best performance was of the 6th in freestyle swimming at the 2008 Olympics.

 

  • Natalie Coughlin – Winning 49 medals in major international tournaments is nothing less of a big achievement. She holds the record of winning 6 medals in a single Olympic edition of American region and the first woman to win a 100 m backstroke gold in two back to back Olympics edition.

 

  • Haley Cope – 8 world championship medals, 50 m backstroke world record, silver medal at the 2004 Olympic games. Although, now retired she is still considered a huge player in female swimming history.

  • Keri-Anne Payne – Swimming from the age of just 4, she is a specialist in marathon open water swimming and long distance freestyle swimming, she has an Olympic silver medal to her name as well.

 

  • Laure Manaudou – The eldest sister of Olympic gold medalist swimmer Florent Manaudou. World record holder in freestyle between 200 and 1500 m swimmers.

 

  • Amanda Beard – World record holder in 200 m breaststroke, seven time Olympic medalist (2 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze). A record of winning 21 medals in major international championships. She is also the recipient of the American Swimmer of the Year Award twice.

 

  • Hanna-Maria Seppala – World title of the 100 m freestyle at the 2003 World Aquatics Championships held in Spain. She was also part of the Finland National Junior team at the age of 10. The Finnish has also broken 100 Finnish national records throughout her career.
