IND V/S WI: Avesh Khan will play his debut match today for India
In the wake of Venkatesh Iyer’s debut in the South Africa series, another cricketer from Madhya Pradesh is ready to follow in his footsteps. In today’s match against the West Indies, Avesh Khan will make his debut for India.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar presents Avesh Khan with his debut cap.
Last year, Avesh was selected to play against New Zealand. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Md Shami, Avesh can fill in as he has been consistent in the IPL and domestic series.
Despite being an early bloomer, Avesh made his debut during the 2014-15 season. A member of MP’s A-List in the 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he shot to prominence in 2018-19 when he became the leading wicket-taker in the Ranji season with 35 dismissals in seven games.
Evesh has taken 100 Ranji wickets from 27 matches, 65 wickets from 48 T20s, and 17 wickets from 22 List A matches. He took 24 wickets for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021.
Lucknow SuperGiants purchased him in the IPL 2022 auction for 10 crore.
