India beat England by 10 wickets, up 1-0 in the series

Kennington Oval is now almost painted in blue colors  , with the help of Jasprit Bumrah’s six wickets, India bowled to the Englishman for 110 and chased down the runs without any loss of wicket. Opening batter Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have scripted their 18th hundred wicket partnership and are now the second-best opening pair in Indian cricket, only after Ganguly and Tendulkar.

Some people were betting https://www.bemybet.com/best-betting-bonuses/ on the England team but Team India finally came out as a winner.

Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna also made some crucial contributions with their bowling display. Virat Kohli had been ruled out for the series opener due to a groin injury.

The target was achieved in less than 20 overs (18.4 overs). The likes of Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Liam Livingstone, and Moeen Ali all failed to get some runs on the board for England. It was a complete Jasprit Bumrah show in the whole England innings.

With this, the Mumbai Indians pacer has registered his best figures in his ODI career of 6/19. Captain Rohit Sharma was struggling in the past to make some big ones after getting a steady start, but tonight it was nothing of that sort, Hitman smashed 58 balls 76 in an innings of seven fours and five sixes, his fellow partner Shikhar Dhawan also put together great supporting innings with 31 runs of 54 balls. Moreover, this was Gabbar’s 150th ODI game.

Dhawan will also be leading the Indian team for the away ODI series against the West Indies.

Rohit won the toss and opted to bowl first, the cloudy conditions and overcast skies would allow the Indian bowlers to dictate the play early on, thought the Indian skipper.

As far as the England team is concerned in white-ball cricket, it seems like, with the new leadership of Jos Buttler, things have started on a shaky start for the wicketkeeper’s reign. They lost the T20I series and now the miserable performance in the first ODI is certainly not a good sign for the English team and management.

“Looking at the overhead conditions and the pitch, the toss was a right call to make. We used the conditions upfront really well. We never worry about the conditions because we have got the guys who can just come out and use those conditions. There was some swing and seam up the front and we exported them well. When you play in such conditions, you have to understand the assistance and have field placements accordingly. We knew our bowlers could swing the ball both ways and hence had that kind of field. Shikhar and I understand each other quite well, except for the first ball where there was that misjudgment. He is playing ODIs after a long time. We know what he brings to the table for us. Experienced player and he has done well for us in the past in these conditions. The hook is a high-risk shot, I understand that, but as long as it comes out right, I am happy.” Rohit said in the post-match presentation.

Jasprit Bumrah was the Man of the Match for his stellar performance.
