India prepares for their match against New Zealand with an unusual training drill, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) asks fans to name it

Team India participated in a unique training drill in Dubai on Saturday, ahead of their match against New Zealand in the Super 12 stage of the 2017 T20 World Cup. Both the ‘Men in Blue’ and the Kiwis were defeated by Pakistan in their first games, and will be looking for their first win when they meet on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium. The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video on their Instagram account on Sunday showing Indian players participating in an unusual drill.

India’s new practise has cricket’s governing body stumped, so they asked fans to name it.

The video’s description reads, “Name this training drill #T20WorldCup.”

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishan Kishan, and Deepak Chahar, among others, participated in a one-handed catching drill in the video.

The training session appeared to be a hybrid of tennis, football, and cricket.

In their first match of the Super 10 stage, India was soundly defeated by Pakistan. India will try to get their combination perfect against a well-balanced New Zealand team in what is being considered as a virtual knockout encounter by many.

India and New Zealand have met 17 times in T20Is, with 8 victories each and one draw. The Blackcaps, on the other hand, have won both of their World Cup games against the ‘Men in Blue.’
