India up 1-0 in the series

It’s been clear domination from the Indian side at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The Men in Blue take the lead in the T20I series against the South African men.

The Proteas were restricted to 106/8 in their 20 overs and India despite losing the early wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made sure that all things are under control from there on.

KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav (SKY) guided the side to an 8-wicket win, both batters brought up their half centuries and the man of the hour, SKY put up another great show with the bat, a huge positive for the Indians stepping ahead of the World Cup in a few days.

The duo put up a partnership of 93 from 65 balls and finished the game with 20 balls to spare. Seems like winning the toss, went in favour of Rohit Sharma and his boys as the due factor made all the difference in the second innings.

For India, Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar were the shining stars as they picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Harshal Patel also scalped a couple and Axar also earned 1 for himself.

The second T20I is scheduled in Guwahati at the Barsapara Stadium on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October.
