Luis Suarez on winning golden boot in Spain, in presence of Ronaldo & Messi
Former Liverpool player, Luis Suarez has claimed he feels proud to have won the golden boot award in an era dominated by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The Uruguayan talks about his time with Barcelona, and when he had scored a hat-trick against Real Madrid in the El Classico. Suarez has stated cheekily about how proud it felt to beat both G.O.A.T Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo based on his form and not because of any voting criteria.
The Atletico Madrid player first won the title in the 2013-14 season where he scored 31 league goals for Liverpool. Moreover, he also won La Liga’s top goalscorer award, i.e. the Pichichi Trophy, during the 2015-16 season.
With his 40 goals back then in the season, he helped Barcelona to clinch their 24th La Liga title at that time.
Whereas, Ronaldo and Messi are concerned, the Portuguese netted 35 goals and his Argentine counterpart managed 26 goals.
Luis Suarez also managed the joint most assists (16) in La Liga alongside teammate Leo Messi.
At the moment, the La Liga is in the absence of both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for the first time since Messi’s debut in 2004.
Ronaldo joined Serie A club Juventus in 2018, although, last year he joined back his former side Manchester United last summer.
On the other hand, Lionel Messi left the Spanish club after Barcelona had been facing financial issues, this forced the player to join Paris Saint-German on a free deal.
