Lyon overpower arch rivals Barcelona in Women’s Champions League Final
Amandine Henry scored one of the best goals ever witnessed in a league cup final as she made Lyon take an early lead against Barcelona in their Women’s Champions League decider.
Lyon were set to be given the tag of underdogs against Barca, who had been crowned as champions of Spain with 30 wins from 30 La Liga matches. Lyons were all over Barcelona in the first 33 minutes as they took a 3 – 0 lead at the Turin’s Allianz Stadium.
Alexia Putellas put Barca in a attacking mode with a goal back for Barca but Lyon locked the back door in the second half as they won by 3 -1. Not only their attack but their defensive play of game of Lyon was also equally impressive.
