Manchester City opens up wide arms for Dortmund star Haaland
Norwegian star and Dortmund forward, Erling Haaland is set to pack his bags and move to Premier League club Manchester City, Haaland’s contract expires in 2024 but according to a clause, he can leave with an amount of 75 million euros this summer. However, it is been said that the transfer has been moved in the direction of Real Madrid.
“He will be at Manchester City, I feel,” said Balague, BBC Sport’s European football expert. There’s no agreement but they’re very close.”
Man City Coach Pep Guardiola’s contract also expires in 2023, but the current Premier League champions hope the news of Haaland will “convince him to stay another year at least,”.
Haaland has scored 33 goals in 31 games for the club this season. If Haaland manages to move to Manchester City “it wouldn’t come as a complete surprise” to Borussia Dortmund, club sporting director Michael Zorc has admitted. Haaland’s transfer to Manchester City will be a positive sign for the team and Guardiola’s tactics.
