Manchester City vs Bournemouth; Premier League
Though the new star Erling Haaland, could not debut at the the home of Man City, although, it made no difference for Pep Guardiola’s boys as City clean swept Bournemouth 4-0 with complete ease.
Norwegian Haaland, who had scored twice on his Premier League game against West Ham, had to wait 18 mins to get a touch on the ball in the match.
Manchester City were looking dominating from the very beginning and scored goals in regular intervals to keep the flow going for the team. Belgian star Kevin de Bruyne scored the first.
Phil Foden made sure to add the points before half-time, running on to a De Bruyne’s pass and letting the ball fly with a shot that chops over keeper Mark Travers body behind but could not keep out of the net.
Moreover, Bournemouth never looked in a commanding position throughout the game and with Jefferson Lerma’s own goal, the team’s confidence and moral also dipped more than usual.
Lerma was trying to stop Joao Cancelo’s low cross from reaching substitute man Bernardo Silva, he only succeeded in sending the ball spinning past goalkeeper Travers.
The fresh City striker was still given a standing ovation from the home crowd, despite his no goal game, and with this, City remain hard to stop him even when he is not at his very best.
